An Apple a Day Just Might Keep the Doctor AwayHistory of Apples🍏 Apples are members of the rose family. They're most likely native to the Caucasus Mountains of Western Asia and maybe to Anatolia, the Asian part of Turkey. Carbonized apples have been dated back to 6500 BC in Anatolia. 🍎Apples came to Britain with the Roman Empire and made it to America in 1623, brought by William Blackstone to Massachusetts. 🍏 They are now commonly eaten with the Dutch eating the most, the French next, consuming most of theirs in the form of cider. Belgians and Italians are next, with the US coming in last only averaging one apple per week. We bring up the average in my family!!! The Health Benefits of Apples🍎 Apples are a highly digestible alkaline food. 🍏 They have a high-water content, which quenches both immediate and cellular-level thirst. 🍎 Because they’re juicy, have a high fiber content and aren’t sticky, they help clean the teeth and exercise the gums when eaten raw. 🍎 Apples have anti-inflammatory properties. They play a nutritional role of calming the system by reducing viral and bacterial loads that create inflammation. 🍏 The phytochemical content of apples makes them a true brain food by feeding neurons and increasing electrical activity. 🍎 Apples contain the amino acids glutamine and serine, which can help detoxify the brain of MSG. 🍏 Apples improve circulation in the lymphatic system. 🍎 They’re antitoxic, meaning they can counteract toxic influences by reactivating beneficial bacteria in the intestines. 🍏 They contain malic and tartaric acids, which help remove impurities in the liver and inhibit the growth of ferments and disease producing bacteria in the digestive tract. 🍎 All apples, but green apples especially, cleanse the liver and help soften gallstones. 🍏 Contains pectin, a gel-forming fiber, that supplies galacturonic acid to prevent the putrefaction of protein. 🍎 Pectin also works as a bulking agent, pushing through the digestive tract, cleansing it along the way.
